Rezoning Information

What’s Happening:
  • A rezoning petition — Rezoning Petition 2025‑088 — was submitted for a 3.51‑acre site south of Kentberry Drive, west of Bellhaven Boulevard, and north of Gum Branch Road in Charlotte. Charlotte, NC+1

  • The current zoning is R‑8MF(CD); the proposed zoning is N2‑A(CD) and N1‑A. Charlotte, NC

  • The proposal would allow up to 26 multi‑family attached residential units in the N2‑A(CD) portion, and additional residential development allowed under N1‑A for the remainder. Charlotte, NC+1

What You Can Do:
  • Visit the City of Charlotte’s rezoning page for Petition 2025‑088 for full details: Rezoning Petition 2025‑088 Charlotte, NC

  • Keep an eye on the public hearing date (not yet decided) and consider submitting comments or speaking at the hearing.

Things to Consider:
  • With this kind of rezoning (to allow multi‑family homes), impacts may include increased traffic, changes to neighborhood character, potentially higher density, etc.

  • Zoning changes may affect home values, school capacity, neighborhood amenities — it’s good to assess how this might affect your personal context.

  • Since the proposal is still “pending” (not yet approved) there may be modifications or conditions added as the process continues.
